Anyone have an under-rated game that they enjoy playing. I certainly have mine:

Blinx the time Sweeper. Yes I know it's on the xbox, but at least the game was not made by microsoft.

Not enough people realize just how awesome a game the original Ground Control was.

I actually used to play runescape. It was years of fun, I was even a member for a while. But when jagex took out the wilderness, unbalenced trading, and put in "new" graphics, I quit. It wasn't fun for me anymore. That old look and feel was gone, and every time I see a screenshot of the old RS, I am overwhelmed with nostalgia.

I like the new version of Iagno. I used to beat it pretty easily, and now it actually takes some skill to play.

Team Fortress 2 on PC

People toss it to the side because the console ports are terrible. In reality, the PC port has to be one of the best_games_ever. So much fun. This is one of the reasons I still prefer PC over console gaming. The quality of the game is in the hands of the studio, not the console vendor.

The only complaint I have on that series is the awful dialouge. Really verbose, awkward too.

Shogo: Metal Armor Division
Beyond Good and Evil
American McGee's Alice
Summoner (I just started replaying it)

I don't really follow the 'gaming scene' (I'm too slow to keep up) so I may be wrong, but I think these games didn't get the attention they deserved.

I thought Warhammer 40,000 Fire Warrior (http://www.metacritic.com/search/process?sort=relevance&termtype=all&ts=Warhammer+40%2C000+Fire+Warrior&ty=0&button=search) was a pretty good FPS despite getting mostly bad ratings.

The Dark Spire (Nintendo DS)
One of the best RPG's I've ever played.... makes me recall the days of Ultima Underworld.

Not for the faint-hearted or players that expect an easy ride, and definitely not for people who like RPG's with 6 hours gameplay coupled with 60 hours of b-movie/shampoo-ad cutscenes (F*cked-up Fantasy)

Honourable mention goes to Nethack, though I doubt it's underrated among Linux users.

the Quest for Glory series

People wanting to play this, the first 3 games are available as abandonware:

http://www.abandonia.com/en/search_abandonia/quest+for+glory

This makes me think we should have an abandonware gamers subforum, helping people relive old classics under Linux with dosbox and wine.

The storyline sounds a lot like what they went with on "Half-Life". :)

I tried to play the Genesis version of that game on my GP2X Wiz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GP2X_Wiz) because it sounded interesting. But when my character falls into the water at the beginning and it says to press some key to continue I've tried pressing every key on the unit and it makes the game start back at the beginning again.

I just spent the last 2.5 hours playing this game with my oldest nephew. We both had a blast. Great game! He was still playing when I left.
