I wrote an opinion article for fun about why I think Apple is missing out by not using Linux for OS X.

Enjoy!

Complete and utter BS (sorry for being blunt). Apple has adopted a kernel released under a BSD license for a very good reason - it doesn't have to be open. Also if you think that Apple kernel engineers are inferior to MS and Linux ones you gotta be smocking some powerful stuff.

If Mac OS X was based on the Linux kernel, then it would become nothing more than a damn distro. Their kernel is already open source. Oh, and by the way, Apple's kernel IS available here: http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/ ;)

And you don't need a suscription (a la "MSDN") to get it. It is just as accessible as you would find Ubuntu's source.

In my humble opinion, this is pure Ballmer-style FUD you're talking about here. ;)

Sorry but you really have to do some homework before posting stuff, even if it's for fun.
