This isn't the 1st time that I have posted here and etc.
Tried to get the disc back in order to try it again or just uninstalled it from my computer totally. The computer and Ubuntu itself are still working. Expect the connection and updates, program manager, etc along those lines. Also, I'm going to request another free cd from Ubuntu since thats what my parents want to me do. In order to just uninstalled from the computer. In my opinion I would rather just donated and etc.
Have been thinking about donating my current computer and my dad's old computer. Rather switch from Microsoft Windows based to Apple Mac altogether. As for the computers that I want to donate. Both of them are Dell and are almost 3 1/2 years old and one has Microsoft Windows Vista Business on it. At the same time one of them is in good shape. Expect some what messed because of security and etc. Another one is messed up big time because it has Ubuntu and no longer has Windows on it.
Believe this is it for now.

We all have different prospectives. My computer was shipped to me messed up (that is, with Windows Vista Home Edition installed). It was slow, buggy and had some sort of unwanted software installed on it. I fixed it by installing latest version of Ubuntu.

In my opinion, it would have read the other way around. I have an old computer that ran Windows 2000 and I tried upgrading to XP, but I could never get my Neatgear WG111v.2 Wireless USB adapter drivers to work on it. I installed Xubuntu 9.10 and it immediately detected my Netgear adapter. It even runs snappier than when I installed XP because after I installed the firewall, antivirus/spyware programs, Ccleaner and other programs, my old computer bogged down and became frustrating to use. Bottom line, Ubuntu has fixed many problems on my computers that Windows never could and I am a diehard Ubuntu/Linux user now.

It's been my experience when making decisions, that if I take my time and consider all the options. The best ones will be obvious. For example you may wish to keep one and use it for a server.
We've installed Ubuntu on a number or older systems and donated them to a local Senior Center. Big mistake. :) Every time, something would get messed up, guess who they would call? Of course we would feel obligated and go help. If you do donate them, make sure the recipient understands there's no strings attached....:P
Good Luck with whatever decision you make.

Interesting opinion. Sorry, I rather just do the switch from Windows based computer to Mac based one. Basically, in the end switching from Windows based to open source/linux (Suse and Ubuntu) never worked out for me. Please don't even get me started on the others members of my family feel or felt about it. Also, my dad has made the switch from Windows based to Mac based. He had his fair share of troubles with Windows, but at the same time never took the time to look into other options like me. Which bothers me that he didn't and etc. By the way he also uses his computer for work as well.

Mac,
Thanx for your response to my thread. Have decided to give up on this and just use the main computer in the house.
