View Full Version : [kde] Audio Playback Device Failure under KDE

Howdy All,

So when I booted into Kubuntu this morning I was greeted by the following lovely popup in the lower right hand corner of my screen:

Now, some of my audio still works (Wine programs & Pandora among a few other things) however my virtual XP machine (running under Virtual Box non-OSE (http://virtualbox.org/)) no longer out puts any audio.

Any idea what happened? I can confirm there is nothing wrong with my hardware and that it is a KDE/Linux issue because my audio still works 100% fine under Win7

Found my solution on another set of message boards. In case anyone else finds this thread the solution was to remove Pulse Audio -
sudo apt-get remove pulseaudio
