I have 3 ubuntu 8.04 lts systems going right now and 1 of them has a kernel dependency problem it started with the last update and i do not know how to fix this...

It is not an error message i was updating it and it can not install the most current kernel version said some thing about a dependency not installing with it. I went to package manager and looked at the broken packages and it is Linux kernel, I will try and get you more info just point me in the right direction to get it for you.

the system that it is on is my step daughters and i update it through my network so she can get her homework done and not be disturbed.
