Hi, I am looking to make My Ubuntu instalation permanent and wipe out windows 7. Can anyone help me?

I installed it via wubi installer and made a 11gb HD installation....I want to erase my Windows 7 Ultimate and make my Ubuntu installation my MAIN OS.

I would burn the iso to a disk like before but cd/dvd drive broken and I can't boot from usb.

HELP PLEASE......Thanks in advance.

having installed Ubuntu thru wubi.....that means that Ubuntu "is a file inside windows".

If you erase windows, you erase all its' files .... Ubuntu included.

You can try to move Ubuntu outside windows. Here's the wubiguide. Sorry, I don't have any experience in this.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide#How do I migrate to a real partition, and/or get rid of Windows entirely?

Also in the wubiguide is how to make Ubuntu the default OS to boot.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide#How do I make Ubuntu the default boot option?

Lastly, this being a wubi-install .... the performance of Ubuntu will depend on the health of windows. Keep win7 clean and defragged.

Thank You this guide will work.

I grabbed a cd/dvd drive out of one of my old computers and replaced the broken one so I just burned the iso as normal and installed it.

I had Windows 7 Ultimate but.....I missed Ubuntu.....guess it's safe to say that I am a Ubuntu user for life :)

Thanks for the reply :) now someone can swing by the forum and get this advice....one of my friends were askn the same thing I asked so I told him to visit the Ubuntu Forum.:guitar:
