Having installed ubuntu 9.10 with all English support, i now want to add Spanish-Castillian language support.
When i try to do through System>Administration>Language Support, and choose
Install/Remove Languages > Spanish; Castillian (translatios, spell checking) and then "apply changes", i get the warning that the ubuntu-desktop package will be removed.
This doesn't sound like the kind of effect i want (removing ubuntu-desktop).
Does this mean that i can't use gnome with additional language support and need to use KDE from now on?
All i want is to have an additional language available, especially for OpenOffice.org support.
Does this mean i will need to use a different desktop UI?
Thanks in advance.
