i had kdenlive installed which was probably the conflict.

so im having nearly the same problem, say for instead of opening at all it comes up on the bottom saying "starting ubuntu softw.." then dissapears. i have rythmbox playing and it momentarily freezes as the software center fails. I've tried the plugin removal and they weren't even installed in the first place.

Ok...I also have the same problem. I removed the freior-plugins like you said before. But it still does not work. Any other fixes?

I'm sorry I cannot be of assistance now because I am in college and they issued computers with Win7 installed. No Ubuntu :( I asked the IT if I can install Linux on it, and he was like:confused:
