Startup disk for what ?

Are you trying to put linux on a USB stick ?

If so, have a look at the menu option System > Administration > USB Startup Disk Creator

If not, can you explain some more ?

Just to add one comment. I pulled my hair off for an hour or so this morning, trying to make a bootable 1 Go usb stick with unr on it. When I changed the usb stick for another one (fortunately I had a sandisk I could use) it all worked well with USB Startup Disk Creator. I even reformated the first no brand usb stick to make it bootable to no avail..
