It appears that Ubuntu has removed the 64 bit desktop 9.10 download link from their download page. Why have they done that or am I just being stupid? If I am missing it then please somebody let me know where to find the link.

Thanks,

Gordon

What do you mean by 'switch on 64bit'? I thought you wanted to install Ubuntu.

Just FYI, the installation process is exactly the same no matter the bitness of the *.iso file you downloaded.

You will need to download the iso file (which I understand you have done), and then (my recommendation) check the md5sum of the iso, as explained in the links provided previously. Then, the iso needs to be burned as an image to a CD (personally, I use good quality CD-Rs) at a slow speed (4x is my preference). Then, as you did with the CD you received for the 32 bit version, you will boot from it and install the 64 bit system.

There is no upgrade to 64-bit; you'll need to do a clean install.
