Hello All

On sdb there is a long-term 9.10-64 fully updated install. No problems.

On sda, yesterday decided to install 9.10-32. Not suspecting any problems I installed all updates and a load of additional apps, only to find sound absent.

Sound is either on-board but preferably Soundblaster card.
Soundblaster and its driver (ca0106) are recognised. There is graphical indication that music is playing, but zero sound. Mute is off and volume set to max.
Onboard sound can be obtained but is heavily distorted.

To Test :-

Try running live cd (well actually it is on a usb stick - wonderful invention). Sound card is fully functional.

Back up sda install, and then reinstall 9.10-32 but this time do not install any updates or apps. Sound card is fully functional.

Tests appear to indicate a faulty update. Does anyone know if a correction is expected?
