Small fonts from specific apps in xfce

hi,
i'm using xubuntu 9.10 and noticed after installing some KDE apps and VLC media player, the fonts of these programs are EXTREMELY small.. way too small to read.. i attached a screenshot.. i'm wondering what the fix is ??

I had the exact same problem today. Gonig to preferences->appearance->fonts and activating "Custom DPI setting" fixed it for me (Use 92 DPI or something that fits you.) You may have to restart the affected apps tough. (And I'm on Fedora 15).
