Help with iso

i cant seem to burn ubuntu onto a cd

ive tried with many iso burners but idk what im doing wrong

i extracted the winrar folder to another folder but i dont know what to burn

help plz
i really want to have ubuntu on my computer 100 percent

Whoah there, extracted? What you downloaded should be an ISO file, you simply burn that file as an image. What burner software are you using?

well i been using imgburn

but at the end it always fail
im burning it again atm hopefully this one works

where did you download the file from?
the ubuntu .iso from ubuntu.com doesn't come compressed.
from the below post i think winrar is asscoiated with .iso files. hence you can extract it. maybe you could just burn the winrar file as it is the .iso

Year, Winrar can handle ISOs. First off, don't extract it. Then follow this guide to burn the image:

i been trying but each time i do it fails at the end

and i always write them at 1x

Well what error messages are you getting, can you burn other images, etc?

it says the operation failed

i remeber using imgburn to burn windows xp

and i remeber by the end of the burning process the disk drive would always eject the disk
which made the whole burning process fail

so i tried again but this time once it tried to open i pushed it back in and it worked

should i try doing that

has anyone ever heard of this?

I don't know enough about your program to offer much help, one thing that they mostly have in common is that they will want you to tell them to burn a data disc and that you have to specify that you are burning an actual image rather than a file within a disc. Many will want bootable iso's to be finalised rather than left open.
You do have several alternatives anyway. You could request a cd ( for which there is noo charge ) and it will be sent to you through the post. Ubuntu can be installed inside windows online, though the result is slightly slower. If you set your flash stick to be checked for boot loaders before your hard drive you can also simply put the iso on one and boot from that.

There is also a very small linux distribution called Puppy linux

which can be loaded into ram, booting from a stick or , probably not in your case untill you can burn iso's, cd. That one has a very good burner as one of it's applications. That should work as whatever software problems you may have, system or application, will be bypassed as it ignores the lot and does it's own thing. If that doesn't work then you may have a hardware problem.
