halo,
I used dual-boot on my machine, windows xp and ubuntu hardy, and I would like to upgrade my kernel to karmic kernel..
My question is, can I upgrade the kernel from hardy to karmic?
for addition, I don't have internet connection in my home, so I have to download the file from internet cafe or by public network..
So what files that I have to download, and can you teach me the steps to upgrade my kernel

thanks:)

I think you want to upgrade your whole system, not only your kernel. If so, all info is here: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading

if your a newbie, then go with prebuilt. it means someone compiled the kernel to work with pretty much everyone and posted it somewhere. Building your own involves customizing it and compiling yourself. If you screw up compiling your own you have to do it over again. here is a place to get precompiled. you want to download the headers and image compatible with you architecture and the one that ends in "all". then install them.
