Installing Ubuntu (9.10) on Dell Latitude D520

I'm new to Linux, after being sick and tired of Vista ](*,).I have ordered a Ubuntu CD online, and I 'm assuming it is ver 9.10
I am using a Dell Latitude for this install, and I want to know, does Ubuntu work on the Dell Latitude?

My computer is a Dell Latitude D520, as for the model. :)

Even among laptops of the same make and model, OEMs have been known to change hardware. So, the only real way to know how well Ubuntu will work on your machine is to boot from a LiveCD and try it.

Any hardware that is not detected by the LiveCD is going to range anywhere from a few tweaks, to outright impossible, to get working after installation.

If you find things that don't work, post a thread with the specific hardware information to see if folks have developed fixes for that.
