I installed Ubuntu 9.1 on my computer this morning. After bootup, the system halted as soon as I clicked Firefox. So I rebooted in recovery mode and selected the fix corrupted packages option. It downloaded new packages, then asked me if I wanted to update GRUB since there was a new version available, but warned that my current version of GRUB was locally modified. I chose to take the update. Now when I start my computer, I only get:

sh:grub>

instead of the boot menu. When I do ls, I see:

(hd0)(hd0,7)(hd0,6)(hd0,5)(hd0,2)(hd0,1)(fd0)

I used to get a menu at this point. Is there any way to get the menu of boot options back? I had Windows XP as well as Ubuntu 7.04 installed on the same hard drive. I also added Ubuntu 9.1 this morning. I don't care about the Ubuntu partitions at this point - I don't need Ubuntu 7.04 anymore and I can reinstall Ubuntu 9.1, but I hope I still have access to the Windows installation.

Nevermind, somehow seems to have fixed itself.
