There is some good content on YouTube, what do you watch? Post a description of each channel if you can.

http://www.youtube.com/user/JamesNintendoNerd - Angry video game nerd reviews bad games, more recent episodes have a delayed release on YouTube you need to go to his official sponsors to view them, but still over 40+ episodes of his work.

http://www.youtube.com/user/kipkay - A bunch of hacks & mods with everyday items, some videos are jokes/fake.

http://www.youtube.com/user/foodwishes - Awesome food recipes, very clear instructions and the guys is an actual Chef (surprise).

http://www.youtube.com/user/TEDtalksDirector - Various technology lectures/talks, mind blowing.

http://www.youtube.com/user/todderman - Recipes that tell you how to create clones of fast-food items like the BigMac (not that much material but still interesting)

I haven't found anything and I have tried. Though I have a TV player, OSTV, where I can set up a youtube channel and watch it just like I watch other TV, somehow youtube doesn't seem to translate to this.

I am not saying youtube is useless, just that it does not seem to work well with structured, programmatic watching. I think it is the nature of the content there.

Interesting that last week, someone started a thread here, looking for tv show recomendations (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1353365), it actually got some responses and this thread didn't.

I've subscribed to 2 users, but there isn't much point to either of them. One is hak5darren, aka Darren Kitchen of the great webby tv show Hak5 (http://hak5.org). I've been subscribed to him for a couple of years, but so far that sub has scored me just one item that I didn't get from my regular visits to hak5.org anyway. The other sub is to someone called ChomskyNo1. He used to post interviews with and programmes about Noam Chomsky (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noam_chomsky), the feted and feared anarchist linguist. But since I subscribed to him, ChomskyNo1 hasn't uploaded a single thing. sad :(

So Youtube subs haven't really yielded me much. But I think I'm gonna give the OP's suggestion of TEDtalksDirector a whirl. I like techy, hacky stuff.

Anyone else got techy, hacky Youtube things to recommend? (Sorry for the attempted thread-jacking, OP; but... Ah heck, I'm not sorry at all. Heh.)

Oh yeah, before I go: I'm gonna make a recommendation, based on the strength of ONE video. Check out TheZebu. Her (his?) video "The Adventures of Lil Cthulhu" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOHJUrcVdJk)is flipping amazing!!! LOL!!! :D

EDIT: Hey OP, TEDtalksDirector doesn't look particularly techy to me. "The Art of the Interview"... "Pop culture in the Arab world"... "Rory Bremner's one-man world summit"... maybe I shouldn't judge a book (video) by its cover (title)... but they don't sound very technology-based...

YouTube needs to create better playlists, it's buggy as hell. Sometimes while pausing it stop playing the playlist. Also adding to playlist from a channel requires you to click the video, and then add it. Why can't they have that + sign that you see on regular page for quick list/playlist..

I agree; it is pretty buggy. When I used to keep up with that subscription, YouTube always sent me repeats.
