Hi. I have a Lenovo Ideapad olympic edition, and I would like to install ubuntu. However, my CD drive is broken on it, and I am trying to use a Live CD in order to install. Any ideas?

Unebootin from a Windows box & burn the iso to USB. Assuming your Bios supports USB booting.

256MB RAM will not give good performance in ubuntu. Try xubuntu instead - I'm pretty sure that supports boot from USB as well.

Ubuntu definitely will not work on 256MB ram. Try Xubuntu or another option is Puppy Linux.
