I successfully installed Ubuntu 9.10 onto a G2 USB stick. Everything is great.

Except the install put GRUB on the internal hard drive of the Company owned computer. It will not boot without the USB.

How do I remove GRUB from the internal Hard Drive?

Next time, on the last step of the installer, you can click "advanced options" and choose where to put GRUB (for example the USB stick).

What is the operating system on the hard drive? If it's Windows, I believe you can reinstall the Windows boot loader using your Windows install CD (never had to do it personally since I am not a big Windows user).

Moral of the story is be careful with your work computer. :)
