Note: No animals were harmed during this experiment (although some may suffer traumas due to blue screens)

And Squalor, no, he prefers gnome :D

great googly moogly. Is that a *wireless* keyboard? which one? and how did you get it to work??

My mother would really want one for her kitchen computer.

From what I've seen, don't wireless keyboards pretty much just work? I know my friend's wireless mouse worked without any config (aside from some logitech tweaking).

As long as the thing uses PS/2, you shouldn't have any problems...

I have used a USB wireless keyboard/mouse setup with Ubuntu from the start. The current one is a cheap setup from 7dayshop.com.
The only problem at logon is that you need to left click the mouse before the pointer will respond (which is also the case if you are returning from a screensaver...

Well there's already puppy linux, just make sure the guinea pigs don't do this. (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=123826)

Ive had a few guinea pigs as pets :) they just love lettuce and most veggies, they also seem to know when its feeding time just by the sound of the crinkling lettuce bag (well mine did) as soon as he heard the sound he'd start squeaking with excitement. :p

Looking at my desk, if I let a guinea pig roam around on here it would pretty soon be clear of everything not nailed down.

The floor would be a mess though. :p

Once in a while (every three hours) I open the window (which happens to be right next to my desk, how handy) and throw out anything I don't need at the moment.

Bills, parking tickets, etc.

Acctually, most of it really is useless. I've never missed or wanted to get back anything I threw out. It's an efficient and fast method of cleaning your desk.
