Perosnaly, Nethcak is best on a DOS termainal. Ntohing beats raw VGA code pages.

Set in iron-age Finland, it's another rogue-like game that, in my opinion, more than gives Nethack a run for its money. It only costs $3, too.

I use QT Nethack.
