Grub Issue??

So new to Ubunto(Linix) I don't even know to search this issue. Auto-upgraded 8.04 lts this morning. I now have 5 choices in Grub. The new boot kernel is 2.6.24-26-Generic. I can only boot if I manually choose 24-26-Generic. If I leave grub to default to 0 (24-26-Generic) nothing happens. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks.

Never mind, upgraded 8.04 to 8.10...problem gone.

You didn't say if you were using Grub1 or Grub 2.
What version of Ubuntu are you using now?
