View Full Version : [ubuntu] Slow boot time on IBM T22

I upgraded my old IBM T22 from 9.04 to 9.10. I did not time the boot up time before the upgrade, but it was acceptable.

After the upgrade it is noticeably slower - times at 2 minutes 15sec. This seems strange since the boot up time is supposed to be quicker with the newer OS.

The system only has 384Mbytes of RAM.

Any ideas of how to improve the boot up speed would be appreciated.

Hi John,

take a look to the system boot log of your system and try to identify wich program delays the boot.

Click on System menu > Choose Administration > System Log.

Says "Nothing has been logged yet". Having trouble finding where you might turn this option on?
