I was looking for a torrent client that works with Gnome.

Transmission in Start Menu > Internet > Transmission. It's simple but has good features.

What he said, Ubuntu already has a torrent client.

It's just that cool 8-)

Transmission is fine. I just use Miro for about everything tho. Deluge I used to use, don't know how it is lately. Some like Vuze.

Transmission for Gnome and KTorrent for KDE. Those can do anything you might need.

Transmission, deluge, ktorrent (works with gnome, but will rope in kde dependencies).

if you want a console based client, rtorrent is the one for you.
