I am running a fresh install of ubuntu 9.10 with no sound. I have a Zotac motherboard with onboard sound; Codec: VIA VT1708B 8-Ch. I followed the directions here; http://monespaceperso.org/blog-en/2009/08/31/upgrade-alsa-1-0-21-on-ubuntu-jaunty-9-04/ because there was a link for 9.10 also.
Everything worked until I got to install alsa drivers, lib and utils, then for sudo ./configure I got "no such command. So I would imagine that now things are really messed up. I suppose that I could re-install ubuntu, but I am thinking that maybe I should try some other flavor of Linux.
Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks, zoey
