So i recently found out you can buy laptop battery cells online rather cheaply and want to upgrade by battery life (2x1hr -> 3hrs+2hrs, for ~£30 seams worth it especially as i have an old rig to test it on first). Unfortunatly I don't know where to go for UK electronics, a google for batteries and consumer electronic produces a lot of info but no uk useful uk shops. So where do brits go to buy electronic components, is maplin my only choice?

Also
1) is it safe to put a 3000mah cell where a 2000mah cell was if they give the same voltage or does the higher power cell give more amps?
2) Is it safe to put 2x3000mah cells where a 2000mah would go if they give the same voltage?
3) has anybody tried this and did it work?

If you are on google.co.uk, does the "pages from the UK" option help at all?

I can't think of anything other than Maplin, unless you check the Yellow Pages or something for a local shop...

I buy mine online from eBay Shops (http://stores.ebay.co.uk), Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk), or 7dayshop (http://www.7dayshop.com).
