9.10 install failure

Install of 9.10 from CD on WMware server 2.0 fails within 10 seconds after starting install process with a page of messages shown in attached screen shot.

I have successfully loaded WinXP and Fedora 12 as virtual machines but Ubuntu always hangs.

Can anyone interpret these messages or point me to documentation that describes what is happening.
