problem after install of Ubuntu 9.1

After installing Ubuntu 9.1 on an XP machine in a partition I cannot get back to windows.
When I reboot and select win xp the screen goes black. If I do nothing 9.1 boots with no problem. Any one have an idea how to fix the window boot.?

Maybe you erased your windows partition and you might need to reinstall windows

Kindly access a terminal (applications > accessories) and type/post back results of


sudo fdisk -l

small L, not 1 nor I
