Hello
I'm new at Ubuntu, about 6 months. a couple of weeks ago I tried to install Mediabuntu and got 5 broken packages. Tried to fix, but kept getting a "child process" and " failed to fork pty" errors. Could not get the few fixes I could find in forums/Google to work properly in the console/root terminal. Maybe I mistyped the "sudo cp /er/inti.d +++" commands, but I tried several times. Still no joy.
Could not figure a way to paste into root. so got lots of "xxx is not a directory" and stuff.
Will upgrading from Jaunty to Karmic solve my problem, or is there another way to fix this? I hope someone can help.
Thanks
