Hi,

Could you please advise me some journal (diary) software?

Like an organizer or something. Maybe with an address-book included.

Regards

Couldn't you accomplish the same thing with a text editor and a well-thought-out directory structure? Look into encryption as well, unless you want others reading your diary.

CubeNoter - perfect diary & organizer application as for me.

You can use it like your personal organizer, diary, address book, e.t.r.

I just noticed today that KOrganizer has a journal feature. Haven't tried it out yet personally though. If you want the whole organizer package, it's Kontact (KMail+KOrganizer+a lot of other stuff). But that's in KDE. Maybe Evolution has something like it?

ummm.... that link is to a ******* program.

The Kontact Journal works well but carries the overhead of the entire PIM to get to it. Since you mentioned an address book, this might be a good approach for you. Personally, I didn't like the idea of all my entries being clumped together in some obscure location which is what this journal does.

There are a few solutions out there but I don't recall them right now. I'll have to look through my old notes and hope I can find them. I assume you're interested in something that can be used offline and most of the programs I found were for one form or another of blogging. I currently use a cobbled together frontend to a MySQL table because I never found anything that suited me.

Address books:

You might also search for "diary," "journal," or "addressbook" in Synaptic.

Windows diary apps are pretty simple implementations (usually) so there's a good chance they'll run under WINE.

I use Freemind for this too, but it is more of a thought-organizer than a diary tool:
