Not that the piddling amount of money it cost MS in the following circumstances would matter to them.

What does matter is that they have been put in the monopolistic power box (where of course they do belong) & treated as such.

Well done India, keep it up, I personally hope that your good works become contagious. :)

I am not a Microsoft apologist by any stretch of the imagination, but I think this particular penalty is excessively Draconian. The "justice" has no poetry to it, in any case. Why not just order them to buy 1st class tickets, quality lodging, and other expenses for the defendants, leave it at that? See, that scales up nicely with the intensity of the crime and it isn't too punitive. I find this quote to be especially apt:
