I just bought a HP netbook, which doesn't have a CD drive. I want to install ubuntu (it came with windows 7) but I don't have a CD drive to run the live cd nor do I have a USB device. Is it possible for me to install ubuntu and remove windows?

see/review network install

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation

- back-up your files
- consider dual-boot just in case your network install is faulty ... at least you still have windows whilst correcting the Ubuntu install.

Hi tegnoto89,
it is not so easy to install ubuntu without a cd or usb device.
it is better if you can buy usb flash drive 2 or 4gb. it is quite affordable price.

why not just mount the iso and install?

Not quite sure what you mean there.

Indeed, go with raymondh suggestion and try a network install, or get a USB drive.

He means you can download an .ISO which is essentially a file that IS a CD/DVD. Mounting it with something like http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/home. There are plenty of tutorials on how to "Mount" .ISO images so if you choose this you'll find plenty of help out there.
