no video in ubuntu 9.10 after updating

Hi ,
I am not at all seeing any video coming after my first update of ubuntu 9.10 .I am beginner to ubuntu please help me in this regard. I am using HP dv2713tu laptop with 1.73GHz Dual core intel processor , 2GHz RAM .
