Recently I upgraded from Jaunty to Karmic. Karmic looks nice, but I can only use the Gnome-failsafe mode, if I try to use 'just' Gnome the sytem freezes before at the startup screen.
Now, I want to install Karmic from the CD but when I try to run Karmic from the CD the system freezes too.
I'd rather have a sytem that only works in the failsafe mode, than no sytem at all. Can somebody advice me what to do?
