As we know, the only way for gamers in Aus to get games rated 18+ or 17+ in the UK or US is to buy a censored 15+ version in Australia (if the publisher agrees to censor) or download it somewhere without paying for it (btw, I am not condoning this).

Examples:
Left for Dead 2
AvP 3
Fallout 3

and more. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banned_video_games#Australia)

Finally the classification board here is considering introducing an 18+ rating for games, to bring games in line with movies, and allow adults in Australia to make their own choices about their own leisure activities.

The classification board is taking submissions, they have a simple form that you can fill out to support it, go here:

http://www.ag.gov.au/gamesclassification

and download a Submission Template from the right hand side.

If you download the .doc:( version you can fill the form in by editing the file, and email it to the address given on the first page of the file.
(I pasted the text into my email body too, just to make sure - but they do ask that you send the .doc file back to them).

It's about bloody time. I will check into this, even though I am not much of a gamer these days. Currently the OFLC has absolutely no consistency or sense when they're rating games at the moment.
