I searched this forum and it had not any reference to this topic. I was just wondering if any of you knew which version of Linux Red Hat was referred to as the standard for certification as RHCE

Last I knew it was RH6, searched quickly online, even WITH certification sites saw only rhEnterprise referred to as RHenterprise 6... etc

anybody know?

...Yet I do have what I believe is the last "version" handed out as an iso, RH9

just wondering what the "standard" for certification was

I'm not sure, but I imagine that the exam would be based on the latest release, which is RHEL-5.4.
RH-9 was the last version you could download for free. This was a desktop distro called Red Hat Linux. The distro currently produced by RH is called Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and the version numbering is different.
If you want the latest version for free, download CentOS-5.4. It is compiled from the RHEL source code and is 100% binary compatible with RHEL. The only difference is that trademarked features (logos and artwork) have been removed.
