I installed Conquer 2.0 through wine, and after doing so tried to turn the game on. This didn't work due to the fact that I don't have some Direct X thing or Direct3D it said. I don't know were to get it, or which one for the matter I need to look for.

Well, knowing its history is good, but it says nothing about Ubuntu installation or activation.

the link I posted links to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Direct3D

Knowing what that is, I then searched for direct 3d in the Ubuntu Documentation.
That turned up this:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WorldofWarcraft

I know you are using another game, but if you go down to configuration, you will find

In wine, Direct3D is supported only through an emulation layer (known as WineD3D), that runs on top of OpenGL. At the moment, WineD3D lowers the fps enough that most people running WoW using wine tend to use the OpenGL mode instead.

and knowing that, you should be able to find what you need in then wine manuals.

Well, final question. It seems that acquiring Direct3D or OpenGL would solve this, but when I installed OpenGL, it said I have it but I have no clue how to get that open...ad installing Direct3D is completely broken. I really would like to get this to work, there aret even any threads on Conquer 2.0, so o reference on this forum other than that link you gave. Problems...
