I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 and lost my wireless card.

I just upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10, from 9.04, and now my wireless card won't turn on. It shows up in the list of hardware devices and says that it has been activated. But no matter what I try to do I can't get it to turn on. What am I missing?

What's the model of the network card?

Also have you checked that wireless networking is enabled in the users and groups preferences?

It's a Broadcom 440x.
Yes I've checked all of the settings.
