I have just performed a clean install of Ubuntu 9.10 to a 500 gig SATA drive on my Intel core 2 duo 64 bit machine. It seems to be complete and working fine apart from it not connecting to the internet and, therefore, no e-mail service.
I connect through a d-link router which has a wired connection to the computer. I have tried to connect manually through the network connection box in administration but am unable to do this because the 'apply' buttons are greyed out.
I have checked the service is there by performing a ping and it comes back strongly.
Any answers/solutions? as I have had to revert back to Vista to place this post!! (Linux newbe)
