I have an HP touchsmart laptop (tx2) that has a remote control. The remote already works like a charm specially in moovida and suspend/hibernate but it has some buttons (DVD, HP Mediasmart and Windows Mediacenter) that I feel like I can still use to open, let's say, Firefox, Moovida, and Rhythmbox.

I tried to install the Infrared remote control configurer in U-Soft Center but once installed, it cannot detect the CORRECT IR receiver nor the remote (I know I could have research on how to but the remote was actually working already before I installed it). I was just thinking if there's a way to edit those three buttons without going through that software. Thanks!

BTW: I fixed the problem of the program by just uninstalling it and completely removing the lirc package.
