How to upgrade to ubuntu 9.10 using cd

hi

i tried to upgrade to ubuntu9.10 from 8.10. i ran this command
gksu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade
this command was given in some other thread but it is not workin.
it copied every thing from the shipped disc to cdrom folder in filesystem, but upgradation doesn't happen,
im not able to run "upgrade" command as i don't have internet in ma home.

You can't upgrade from 8.10 directly to 9.10, neither from a cd, not via the network. The only way to upgrade for you is to go 8.10->9.04->9.10. I'd recommend to simply backup your files and reinstall.
