Hello all,

I am new to Ubuntu and Linux and was messing with some things.

A long story short I have removed zlib1g-dev, zlib1g, libpng and tcl/tk

and now unsurprisingly I cannot boot up

I am left on the basic non gui screen telling me I need to install a kernel and to push any key. I do so and a list of kernels for Koala appears, I try any one of them and again it says I need to install the kernel and to push any key which puts me in a loop.

Thus I have no command prompt and cannot "apt-get" a new kernel

Id like to try to fix rather than format and reinstall and was wondering if there is any way I can download any boot cds or such and get back to a command.

Thanks for any help in advance.
