Hello
Just installed a fresh copy of ubuntu 9.10 x64 with Gnome on my desktop, installed txs to hardware driver tool ati drivers, so far all allright.
Wihout enabled esktop effect, the gnome env is reacting with a 2-3 second delay when starting application (looks like its freezes a bit) - rhytmbox and so on, when I enable desktop effects the desktop reaction is even slower.
Im a bit curious because I've teste Ubuntu on VMware where I didnt experienced similiar.
Im assuming that there might been a problem with vga drivers.
