Using jaunty, how can I avoid desktop (GDM?), but still having X for my graphic application.

Use a window manager that does not require a DE, such as fvwm2 and many others.

I am using QT over X or opengl to be my entire application (just UI), do I have to use a window manager?, I want to avoid the graphical desktop and getting only command line with graphics display capability.
