xmonad+gnome: Using a combination of xmonad and metacity/compiz.

Is there any way to use a combination of xmonad and the standard window manager? I would like to use xmonad on one of my desktops and leave the rest alone.

Xmonad is a window manager. You should choose between Xmonad, Compiz, or Metacity. Running multiple WMs can get ugly, and fast.
