HI,

I have some problems with the installation of ati drivers for using graphical effects.

I downloaded this file (https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/64bit/ati-driver-installer-8.28.8.run) XFree86 4.3 Drivers (https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/64bit/ati-driver-installer-8.28.8.run)

I executed the file, this is the result

Creating directory fglrx-install
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing ATI Proprietary Linux Driver-8.28.8............................................ .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........................
-e ==================================================
-e ATI Technologies Linux Driver Installer/Packager
-e ==================================================
Detected configuration:
Architecture: i686 (32-bit)
X Server: unable to detect
Removing temporary directory: fglrx-install
But I can't use the graphical effects yet.

Can anyone help me please?

For things to do with vVidea & ATI drivers / cards, head over to the sticky at the top of the page - they've got a good range of cards and solutions.

Phill.
