Hi! I am completely new to Ubuntu and I am already stuck with the installation... I have Vista and I was planning to dual boot Vista and Ubuntu, so I created a brand new partition beforehand and then booted from installation cd, hoping to be able to install it on the partition I created for this purpose. I reached the step where I choose the partition manually, but I have no clue on how to proceed. I can see my partition but I don't know anything about the "use as" options (ext3,ext4 etc) and even less about "mount" options. Is there any recommended step procedure...

thanks. I'm so looking forward starting using Ubuntu!

There are a couple of short videos at screencasts.ubuntu that might help with your questions, watch them and if you still have unanswered questions, fire away.

You are looking for the "Ubuntu Partitioning" and "Ubuntu Dual Boot Install" videos.
