Problem using wubi

I've never used linux before and wanted to try it out, however when using the wubi installer it will start the install then i will get a permision denied error, i have an administrator account and am running xp has anyone else had this problem?

Highly recommend that you also request the free disc (https://shipit.ubuntu.com/) as well. To make sure its works properly and thats what I did.

It is possible that you have user control turned 'on' in Windows. (UAC)

And, yes, it's a pain -- If you're on Vista, or Win7 it's --> http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-user-account-control-uac-the-easy-way-on-windows-vista/


If you're on XP, then you need to select 'run as administrator' by right clicking the install icon.

i tried run as, and that wasnt the problem. I did some more searching and am making another disk to make sure its not my disk. I'll see if that helps.

i made another disk, its installing right now and the problem is gone so far
