Is that /etc/* you are talking about?

Or,

Etcetera?

Or,

Does etc stand for something else?

There is no 'us as a whole', only us as individuals. And we haven't changed, only your illusion has faded. Feel better now?

Interesting viewpoints.

As for me I don't believe that. Found there were times in history when we were exact opposite of that.

I'm sorry, but we have been having a LOT of trouble understanding what your meaning is in this thread.

You don't articulate your thought/feelings very well into the written word.

If you put the effort into being more descriptive you will get more feedback from us.

If you read back over this thread, you should be able to see that we have been trying to get you to make your meaning more clear? Which you have after multiple edits & replies started to do.

Even so, the general meaning of your post seems to be something along the lines of:

What is going on in the world?

I think about this from time to time.

Discuss?

Which certainly is a broad topic. :)

& yes, I think about it more than I think about anything else. I pursue understanding of humanities actions & the what consciousness is.

I also expect that it is possible that this thread could end up in political/religious/spiritual/psychological territory, which unfortunately these days is not allowed by the code of conduct.

Though it may not, so time will tell.

If I answer my thought on the topic, it will go there, so I won't answer. :)

We are as we should be, no more no less and tomorrow will give us an opportunity to expand our consciousness. The mouse can not roar or at least we humans can't hear it. I believe I've said enough.

Because this is so entertaining, I'm going to gratify this prompt of yours with an answer.

First off, nothing has happened, other than progression. Technologically, sociologically, culturally. While some would call what we've obtained over the decades a de-evolution of the human race as a whole, I'd call that the same garbage that has been spewed over and over these past few centuries.

Change scares individuals, yet we all take part in it. We scream no to gay rights as we drive around in the cars listening to the rock and roll our forefathers and mothers screamed against. Change happens every day, and to us it seems wrong or out of place sometimes, because we aren't familiar with it.

Say in ten years, the things that bother us now will become the norm, and we will clamor about how things are all out of order, and how things were right with the world... isn't it silly?

It's this kind of thinking that holds us back. Keeps up from keeping order, civility, and progressing as a society. A bit of a harsh accusation of what equates to free thought, but just because it's free doesn't mean its stupid!

So in short eh... just chill out, relax, and enjoy life for what it is!

This is a very random thread O.O

I actually don't think there is that much wrong with society... I used to but... you have to bear in mind it could be so much worse. I mean there will always be ruthless individuals who rise to power, some people will always be greedy.. much of the western world seems to favour a kind of "left wing capitalism" (capitalist but favouring public institutions and often sharing through taxation)... I dunno I think it all makes sense.

It's certainly sad when a country (particularly one with some influence) is corrupted by bad leadership, but I'm afraid aside from us developing some kind of perfect political structure in the future this will always be a risk.

I am something of a conspiracy theorist from time to time and so I have my suspicions about things taking place behind mainstream politics, but whatever it doesn't seem that corrupt atm in the West relatively speaking so I just go about my life and get involved in activism and stuff where appropriate :)

What in particular were you worried about anyway?

Monty, people like you. It's a gift.

You make friends wherever you go.

You're gonna work hard. You're gonna keep your head down and your mouth shut.

You're gonna make yourself a new home out there.

You're a New Yorker. That will never change. You got New York in your bones.

Spend the rest of your life out west, but you're still a New Yorker.

You'll miss your friends, you'll miss your dog, but you're strong.

You got your mother's backbone in you.

You're strong like she was.

Huh to this and I mean etcetera of course. Then etc stand for something else.

Since this is a Linux forum and nobody has addressed this yet, I'll say it.

There is another etc.

It's a file location in the Linux file system where most of the important configuration files are kept.

ls /etc

As for this world, you can research history and see that people have been subject to the same ******** in the past as they are now, and as they most likely will be in the future. Superstition, bigotry, greed, wastefulness, anger, hate, violence, torture, jealousy..... the list goes on and as we advance as a technological people (or divided people), we seem to find new and improved methods of reaching the worst possible version of reality in less and less time.

Yeah, but he didn't follow through with a clarification and then 'mybodymyself' asked if "etc stood for something else."

And with this being a "people suck" type of thread I felt like showing that not everybody sucks and most people in this forum are pretty friendly.

Your predisposition suggests society as a whole had it to begin with, I beg to differ.
