can't install cd

Got a cd for ubuntu linux 9.10,32bit and it won't work in my laptop! Says it needs slower cd! How do I burn slower cd!

Did you burn it yourself from an ISO file or you received it in the post?
If you burnt it yourself just select lower speed in the burning software you are using, no more than 8x.
